Installation Notes: This unit comes equipped with a smaller 1.75 inch diameter alternator pulley, and will require a slightly shorter drive belt for proper belt tension. MechMan alternators for advertised VW applications use the stock length drive belt. NOTE: The technical drawing for this alternator shows a 6 groove pulley. This part number will ship with a 5 groove pulley so that it fits the applications it is advertised for. This is also the reason why a 370 amp version is not offered- a 5 rib belt starts to slip on the alternator pulley at anything above about 275 amps output.
