Mechman Alternators Mechman 170 Amp High Output Marine Alternator For Late Model GM LS Engines

Standard build time is 10-14 days.* This MechMan Marine certified high output 170 amp 6 phase alternator is a great upgrade for boats using the popular "GM LS Truck" bolt pattern alternator. This style alternator was used by many boat manufacturers from the late 1990's through 2018. (check the technical drawing against the measurements of your stock alternator to see if this unit will fit your application) This alternator comes with a simple single wire pigtail plug included. Simply connect an ignition switched 12V+wire from the original alternator plug to the supplied alternator plug for proper function. This unit features (12) diodes and twin rectifier plates for excellent durability with high-end audio installations. The included 6 groove serpentine pulley measures 2 inches. This unit meets or exceeds SAEJ1171, ISO 8846, and USCG Title 33 standards for ignition protection. All MechMan marine alternators are made in the USA, and feature a 1 year limited warranty. MechMan marine units are hard black anodized, THEN grey enamel coated to provide the best possible corrosion resistance.

A side output stud and seamless rear cover with a side output plug allow for better clearance from the back of the alternator to the front of the engine and a smooth appearance. A single wire on the provided pigtail gets connected to any ignition switched 12V+ source to turn the alternator on and off with the ignition switch. Simply run a properly sized positive and ground cable from the alternator to the terminals of the battery and the alternator will work perfectly, regardless of what kind of wiring harness you have.
